My song was complete - I started adding video. All the trcks disappeared - I should have "not: save it but did.

You can still try your luck. Did you set your program to Backup after some minutes? If so you can still trace BAK (backup file). Normally Backup file with the extension of Bak are saved where project are saved. All you have to do is File/Arrangement when a window is opened change the mmm file to All files and locate the bak file and open it. All of your lost files should appear better re-save.
Other than above, if program get crash you can locate crash file probably in the following location (Hidden file)
C: Program Data or Application Data (as per your windows version) Magix/Music Maker (your version)/UserData Crash folder inside it you will find lost file such as
New_Crash_1234_5678 to open double click on it.
