I recently purchased \video Easy 2021 and I am trying to activate the mpeg codec but I am getting the error 24 that the serial number has been used. I recently activated the codec for an older copy of Video Easy version on another computer so should this be allowed on a new computer

This error means serial number has already been registered to another email address - ie the older version of Video Easy was registered with a different email address, and Video Easy 2021 is with a new email address.
If that is the case I would suggest you email Magix to infoservice@magix.com and have them transfer the old version to the new email address
If the codec serial number is locked to the product version as well as the email address, then you would need to get a second activation code for the newer version, again ask Magix in your email to them.
