.mp4 sound problem

Hello,

I recently purcharsed Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 PLUS and now that I got around installing it I have weird sound artifacting problem. The problem is there right from the get go. Even previewing clips has the same problem. Importing and exporting doesn't matter the crackling/artifacting sound is there. Other video formats seem to be working fine as far as I'm concerned.

The source video was recorded with Nvidia Shadowplay. Also the artifacting is only happening in MEP. Original clips are fine. Movie maker is fine. Sony Vegas is fine. Only happens in MEP.

I uploaded a video to youtube that demonstrates this problem. I have shoddy upload speed so can't be arsed to upload it straight here.

Starting at 0:45 the problem is super obvious. But it's there for the whole thing.

Computer specs:

Hi Petrolhead

Clearly those cars need new spark plugs. .

Seriously though......it may be to do with the codec or format that Shadowplay uses so a solution may be to re encode it through a converter like Super or Handbrake to another more standard file.

Ok, I finally got around converting some of the clips I have and it seemed to help somewhat. I went with Handbrake and it at least altered the problem. Now instead of crackling the clips have weird hissing noise at times. I'm going to try running different settings when I have time to play around with it.

Same issue here with Shadowplay recordings. I often use Avidemux to trim my gameplays, so I thought about using it to re encode the sound and it did actually remove all cracklings in Movie Edit.

My settings in Avidemux (free software of course):

Video Output: Copy

Audio Output: AAC (lav) 192

Output Format: MP4v2 Muxer
