MP4 Frame Rate Issue

adamwright1989 wrote on 1/20/2011, 7:13 PM

In Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus, I have been having issues exporting files into MP4. Upon doing so, the exported file has jerky playback. In Windows 7, right clicking on the file and viewing its properties reveals 0 FPS, or is sometimes just blank. When I exported, I used the 1280x720 HDTV 1 pre-set setting with 25 FPS.

I am lost for ideas. I have reformatted Windows 7 and consequently reinstalled Magix Movie Edit Pro. The problem still persists. It only affects MP4 exporting. The types of files I am exporting are WMV files that were previously made in Magix (high quality) and I am grouping videos together to make a final MP4 for online use.

Any more suggestions, or is there a bug with Magix 17? Previous versions did not have a frame rate issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have just exported a .wmv to .mp4 and I am not noticing any jerky playback. I am not sure if there is other setting issues.

MPEG4 Export (MP4):
Video: 1280x720 ; 25.00 Frames/s; H.264 1700 kbit/s
Audio: 44100 Hz; Stereo; AAC
Size estimate: 17491 kByte

Above is the image of the properties screen.  I am using primarily .mp4 files with and I have not noticed any playback anomalies with the files.  Do you have a clip that you can share with me? I can test it to see if I get similar results as you, this way we can narrow the search and cause of the problem.

Hi there. Thank you for your contribution. Sadly my files total 9GB so sending is not really an option. When I do it with one or two files, its ok. It is only when I try exporting the lot (totals 47 mins).

Hi, I'm having the same problem - so now and then - with MP4 exports in MX.

Films that don't run smoothly have no FPS (blank) in explorer; Mediainfo (freeware) shows FPS is always  a little more than 25 (for ex. 25,025). Other films, created with the same camera a week earlier give no problems (and FPS in Mediainfo = 25.000).

You have a solution yet?
