Have anyone experienced extremely long saving times with mp3 files in the 64-bit version of Sound Forge 12.1.0.170 Suite.
I tried to save an wav file to mp3 and after 6 min it just processed 40% of the file so I canceled the operation.
After this frustration I installed the 32.bit version and now the same file was saved in just 4.4 sec.
Any hints what can be wrong?
I have Windows 10 pro.

Here is a post from May 2018, prior to Pro 12.1.
In this recent test w/ 64 bit Pro 12.1, the results were... on my Win 10 laptop encoding a 4 minute stereo PCM file w/ no plug-ins or other processing (256kbs stereo CBR, 48k at the highest quality encode)
SF Pro 12.1 (64 bit) = approx 25 sec.
SF Pro 10 = approx 19 sec.
Vegas Pro 9 = approx 4 sec. 😲
Vegas is the fastest, so use that if you have it or SF 12.1 x86. That said, I usually use WinLAME RC3 because of the advanced parameter options.
