Installed upgrade from Movie Studio 2017 Platinum to Movie Studio Suite 2022. Can't get video to play. Audio is there. Movie Studio Platinum 2017 works fine. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Hopefully, you are aware that Magix Movie Studio Suite 2022 is NOT an upgrade to your Vegas Movie Studio 2017 Platinum, but rather an entirely new product, based on the existing Magix Movie Edit Pro.
However, that should not explain why you can't get video to play. However, in order to be able to help you we really do need a lot more information from you, please.
First, please read this pinned post and give us ALL the information about your computer. It is entirely possible that your computer may not meet the minimum requirements to run the new program. This page details the minimum technical requirements to run the software.
Then, please tell us rather more about the actual video files that do not play, source, format, size, etc., etc. The free utility MediaInfo is invaluable in showing exactly what codecs etc., are used in any video file. If you're not sure how to use this utility there is a full tutorial here.
Please read my reply immediately above your post. The Vegas Movie Studio product line is now discontinued and so no, there is no upgrade path to a similar product.
The consensus seems to be that, for user of the old Vegas Movie Studio who do not want to move to the "new" Magix Movie Studio, they should look at one of the constituents of the Vegas Pro product line.
