What I'm really hoping for is better motion tracking and green screen flexibility.

Also perhaps a version that can import acc sound files again. That's gone missing in VPX 14.

Yet one more lost function that requires an upgrade to a more expensive solution. My system just about covers the specs needed.

I took advantage of the Humble Bundle, all the packages installed without any problem, however I have an issue with Movie Studio 2022.

There are no Magix Travel Maps, Edit/Wizards only have 2 features, Slideshow Maker and Soundtrack Maker, there is no Travel route animation feature.

According to the Help manual the program includes Travel route animation, is there any way I can locate where it might be hiding

Hi.

If you have Travel Maps it should be located in C:/ Program files / MAGIX / Travel maps. The TravelMaps.exe file should be located towards the bottom of the files.

Was there any additional content to be downloaded and installed? There should have been a message after activating the program. If not, check under Help, Install Extra Content.

From what I see on Humble Bundle, this is just plain Movie Studio 2023 basic, not Platinum.

Looking at the comparison table, Travel Maps (TM) does not come with it. Make sure that you look at the table to see what is not included in the basic version.

However, on HB it says:

Then it mentions Premium version has NB Stylizers 5 Illuminate, which, of course, doesn't come with the basic version.

Once again, Magix messed up with their description. From what is written, I would expect TM.

If TM isn't there, I suggest that you raise a ticket with Magix and explain that HB says that TM comes with the package. Show them the proof.

I have initially contacted Humble, as the supplier of the product, it should be their responsibility to rectify (it is under Australian consumer laws), not that I would expect a resolution.

I purchased the package mainly to obtain Vegas Pro 18, so whilst missing Travel Maps from Movie Studio is disappointing it would not have been a deal breaker.

Fortunately, I do have Magix Movie Edit Premium 2021 installed, which has most of the features I need.

This feels like Déjà vu.

Some will remember a similar issue we had when Humble did a release of Magix Video X12 that was supposed to come with a licence for proDAD Mercalli v5 - but it didn't.

It took a bit of back and forward between users and Magix and Humble support.

In the end, Magix finally gave us the proDAD Mercalli v5 licence serials.

So hopefully either Magix and Humble support should come through.

I sometimes feel like I must be the only person who looks at the HumbleBundle packages and feels like they are getting a real bargain off of one bit of software within a bundle at a fraction of the cost of buying a newer copy direct from the publisher. With all the supposed 'sales' that happen around this time of year to get a full copy of any software at a fraction of it's upgrade or discounted price feels like a win to me and an affordable loss if it goes a bit pear shaped and isn't the latest current release.

In fact I'm grateful it is not the latest release for my aging hardware. Also it's a better way to evaluate future purchases over trying out limited trial versions.

@Promidi for sure, deja vu with HB when they offered VPX12, and the Mercalli Suite 5 error. But it was resolved in favor of those that bought that bundle. But it was a concerted effort with others writing emails and being persistent. I included screenshots to show the error. Personally, I didn't care since I have a license for Magix and Vegas for Mercalli, but got one anyway. For me, it was the principal of the matter.

@CubeAce, I too will purchase a HB for one product and look to give away the rest. If anyone wants to try Vegas Pro, you can't beat $25 for a version a couple of years old. And you can upgrade (and keep!) Vegas 18 to Vegas 20.

Also note, Mercalli 5 is only for Magix.... a user in the Vegas forum received an email from proDAD clarifying this. Even though it's not specifically stated in the advert.... Hmmmmm....... misleading? I think so.

Looking at the Producer Planet and ProDad Mercalli V5 is no longer even listed in their shop front as a plugin.

Whatever plugins I get due to offers though Magix, have always ported and been available in either MS or VPX, a bonus I never expected but they have never shown up in a Vegas product, so personally I'm not surprised. The only reason for me to download the ProDad plugin would be to have a longer expiry date on the plugin which I have been known to do.

@CubeAce, Mercalli is up to V6, and yes, Mercalli 5 isn't offered on prodDAD's website for Magix/Vegas. So I am wondering, if someone bought the HB, and tried to update to Mercalli 6, would they get the perpetual or "rental" version.

I already have the standalone Mercalli V6, and V5 Suite installed. My version of V5 Suite is perpetual. I didn't install the Mercalli V5 that was in the HB for VPX. Was that one perpetual or limited rental? I don't remember...

I've also found, communicating with prodDAD directly. I've downloaded trials and they've contacted me wanting to know if I would consider purchasing before the trial ends. I've replied, and let's just say, the offer they made was way less than anything listed on their website.

Wow! I'll try to convert my standalone to plugin.

Humble indicate that the value of a 2 year license V5 is $299, the same price as the full standalone version 6 $299, so why buy the plug-in which is restricted to Magix and still cost $299 I have the full standalone version of Mercalli 5 which only cost $99 on special a few years ago

I don't use any other NLE and don't generally do standalone videos, so having it as a plugin is better. I do have the V6 SAL, which I got through a Magix deal for a steal a few months ago. It is a nuisance having to stabilise a clip outside of Magix and bring it in; much easier just to do it on the timeline when needed. That said, I probably can't justify the price. Prodad wants for the plugin version of 6.

It doesn't look like there is much difference between v5 and v6.

I watching and waiting for a fix for the up and down video caused by walking with a GoPro strapped on. They have many other cases covered, but not this simple one.

V5 for anyone who doesn't have it is a good deal. By then, Magix will probably be bundling Mercalli V6 plugin with VPX and maybe a 2-year license for Movie Studio Suite.

John, I disagree. The V5 plugin was always a bumbling, confusing mess for me that rarely worked well. V6 SAL is so simple and 9 times out of 10 it brilliantly with a couple of clicks.

V5 seemed simple enough for me, at least it did a good job straight from the OFX plugin. I didn't play with anything except change it to Sports Cam.

Does V6 fix the up and down video caused by walking with a GoPro strapped on?

Quite a while back, I tried all kinds of things to fix this, including getting help from John EB. No success.

Hi John.

Can you not get a text box or similar to track an object within the frame and then copy the motion of the text and apply to the Go-Po footage, expand the footage with size position rotation to fit? If it wanders from side to side just reset the horizontal movement? Then remove the text box.

If not,I use one of these.

That one is expensive but the same unit can be found a lot cheaper by other brands.
