Movie Edit Pro Premium suddenly too slow to use

John-Horton wrote on 6/6/2023, 3:47 PM

Recently my copy of Movie Edit Pro Version 21.0.2.138 is too slow to use. I have no idea what could have changed. I have not installed any new software or changed any hardware. My hard drive (SSD) is not full.

Sometimes it works and most of the time it is too slow to use. Looking in my Windows task manager I can not see any memory issues.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8705G CPU @ 3.10GHz   3.10 GHz

@Former user yea I just checked GPU drivers. All are up to date.

Hi

More questions I'm afraid:

. . . . I have not installed any new software or changed any hardware. My hard drive (SSD) is not full. . . .

Have you changed the video format/resolution you are using eg different camera?

What size is the SSD and what %age free space is available ?

. . . . I just checked GPU drivers. All are up to date. . . . .

Is the Radeon driver version number 30.0.13037.4001 - AMD ref 21.30.37.04 and the Intel UHD 630 31.0.101.2114 ?

Have you been using proxy files and this is now turned off?

@johnebaker I just uninstalled and reinstalled the Magix software. It seems to be working now. Maybe I should have done that first. I was really scared the issue was hardware.

If the issue returns I will check those driver versions and report back.

Forgive me if I'm in the wrong thread, but, can someone tell me what the best laptop is to use movie edit pro 2021 on?

@jfrench921

Hi

Your question is in the wrong thread, however the quick answer is see my signature below for what I use, I would not recommend anything less than my laptop spec, especially not a smaller screen for future proofing.

Using a MAC laptop is not a viable option as MMM2021 is Windows only.

For future posts if you do not find a relatively new post that is similar to your query or issue you are having please create a new topic.
