Movie Edit Pro Plus 2016 cannot import AVCHD files

Movie Edit Pro Plus 2016 version 15.0.0.102 (UPD3) cannot import AVCHD files using the "Import from AVCHD/SD card/USB" window. That's the window that pops up when I press the red circle record button and select AVCHD.

My desktop computer runs Windows 10 Home. It has ample resources.

I (fail to) import from a 64 GB SD card known to windows as the F drive. That card contains AVCHD files written by a Sony Alpha a6000 camera.

In Movie Edit Pro Plus, the "Import from AVCHD/SD card/USB" window shows thumbnails for the AVCHD clips on the SD card. Any clip can be selected and played in the preview box. Clips should be saved to C:\Users\Joel\Documents\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus\Pianos\My Record\, a folder in my "Pianos" project.

When I select one or more clips and click the "Import" button, Movie Edit Pro Plus displays the warning, "File ... cannot be imported." The problem happens whether or not the "Import into movie" button is checked. The failed import creates an empty folder, C:\Users\Joel\Documents\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus\Pianos\My Record\00000 in this example.

My workaround is to use the import tab in the main Movie Edit Pro Plus window. I can browse "My Computer" to the F drive and use the import buttons to bring clips into my project and movie.

Hi,

The best way is to copy on your hard drive your movie files in a directory like My Documents, My Videos you can import in directory.

From your Magix Video software reach the software containing the video and select afile using the left mouse button and move on the timeline

Don't use the record button.
