I've got Movie Edit Pro 17 on Windows 10 but used to have in Windows 7 but Windows display files were slightly corrupted so i had to upgrade to 10.
Previously the Vidbox NW03 worked fine in Win 7.
Recently i was going to capture and old VHS tape to it, clicked the Record tab of the menu which goes to the record source (DV/HDV/Video etc), choosing the Video source i get 'no recording device is detected in your system'.
I also tried the Video Recorder option but neither audio or video dropdowns were detected.
The only recognition of the device been recognized is thru Audacity (audio recorded fine) and VLC (both video and sound) but wasn't able to record it BUT this was my inexperience as i've never needed it. i merely used both alternatives to try and establish a signal was been detected.
i would have tried to get a free trial of the current Magix Movie Edit Pro but had previously tried it before this trouble had arisen so i'm faced with the only option of purchasing it.
I'm not even sure if removing my old MEP 17 and reinstalling it will work if i'm faced with having to re-register it.
i would prefer to fix the problem in MEP 17 first rather than buy the latest MEP only to be stuck in the same position.
i have tried talking to VIDBOX but just gave me the 'get latest drivers' did that then finally 'old device get a newer one' bad news because i wasn't sure what was going.
can anybody offer any kind of help on any kind. i acknowledge MEP17 is old. what are my options, could i uninstall and reinstall MEP17 without any re-registering issues and hopefully it might get it to recognize the device.
i'm not sure if upgrading to Windows 10 may have changed or wiped the old settings on this device but the fact that at least VLC does recognize both aud/vid does suggest the device is recognized just not by MEP17 at the moment
