Movie Edit Pro 16 plus. Need help with Merging video clps

Hey guys,

I know this is probally simple but its been while since I did any editing work.  I have looking in the help files but came up empty.  I shot a wedding with my Sony HD handy cam in HD format and for some reason (1st time it happened) it broke everything down into small video clips instead of having one long shot.  Is there a way to merge all the video clips together so you dont see a cut or have to a transition.  It looks silly to have a transition or a black screen cut in the middle of the priest talking.

What I am looking for is to have the wedding clips themself be one long shot.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this task?

Thank You

Did you use the Picture Motion Browser for the transferring? If so, as far as I remember, the program automatically divides the film. Check in the settings to untick.

To import the vids I used the task menu then the drop down for load video.  However the files from my Sony cam were already segmented.  This was done by drag and drop the files that i wanted from the Sony Cam to my PC.  You'll have to forgive me for not knowing all the terms.  the picture motion browser are you referring to when you first create a new project and it give you the option to import new data?.

The Picture Motion Browser is a program for transferring video to PC, using Firewire. I got it with my Sony HDV-camera (tape) HDR-HC9. But I don't use it. I have problem with my Win7 PC and Firewire, so I use an older XP PC for the transferring to an ext. disk.   -- Your camera is Harddisk or card-camera? Then you use USB? Did you get any program with your camera? And you have transferred from the camera before without the same problem?

I think there was some basic software with the Cam.  Sony Picutre Utility if im correct but i never use it.  I have always just plug in with the usb and drag and drop from the Sony Hard Drive to the PC Hard Drive currently windows vista.  I never had this issue before.  I also shot the vid in the HD FH settting but I dont think that has anything to do with it.Normally the number of files is equal to how many scenes i shot.  This was the only time I have ever had one long shot broken into many clips.  If all ese fails i can try to retransfer the files using the Sony Picutre utility.

Either way the event is over and I have a bunch of files on the Sony Hard drive now.  Is there any tools in editing software that will help me accomplish my goal?
