MM Maker 2016 Live...adding live audio tracks

rongray46 wrote on 4/25/2017, 4:44 PM

PC with Windows 1

Using MM Maker 2016 Live...with a combination of their samples/loops and my own live
piano audio input.

Problem 1 )
I can’t punch in live bass, say at bar 13,  to add a new section at end of the previously
recorded bass part . Recording AUTOMATICALLY stars at bar 1, which means I have
to completely record a total new part, overwriting what I recorded earlier!
Same for wanting to add anything additional parts at the end of an existing
track

Surely there must be a way for recording to start at a position of my choice ?.
Any suggestions, please?

Problem 2 ) I laid down 16 bars of drums and some guitar loops from the media
pool. I then played that back and recorded myself playing a piano line to
accompany these two tracks.

Played back OK then on next playback a sustained piano chord died halfway
through a bar, and the last bars of piano moved ...making the whole thing
useless.

Occasionally it would be OK...then next time.... the part again became unstable ! I am so
angry !

Any help, anyone, please .

HI,

There is no punch in feature in MMM, only in Samplitude Music Studio and up. To adjust where you want to start recording, move the left end of the yellow range bar at the top to that location. Make sure the right end is also far enough or it will start looping back and playing whatever is in the range.

Are you using MIDI to record your piano, or audio input?

Further to my first message, do you mean that without recording any new material or doing any editing, the previously recorded material somehow changes? Can you give us some screen shots and a better description of what you are doing?

Yes...without making any additional changes or recording, the track becomes out of sync. TY for your reply.
