I used to have a sample tune called (I think), 'Here I am' that came with Music Maker Silver. Since I upgraded to the latest version of MM, I can't find the track on my PC, is there any way of getting hold of a copy from somewhere?
Thanks again for your help. I've downloaded 'Silver' and the soundpools are all there where you suggested :) The only problem Ive got is that I can't find the '.mmm' file (that I assume is the compiled song - 'scuse my terminology, I'm new to this)
I've looked in Demo SOngs but there is no mmm file there
I'm travelling for a few days so I can't check on my computer. I did a seach using Search everything for the title and the results pointed to the folders for the Soundpools. Perhaps the demo file is under the Program Data files. Check in there. You may need to unhide hidden folders to find this.
I've had a thorough search and I am 100% confident that I don't have the required ?.mmm file. The reason? I now think I maybe had *two* versions of the Silver variant installed over the years. One was was '2015' and one was earlier - maybe 2011/2012. I think maybe the 'missing' .mmm file was possibly in the earlier version that I no longer have the install file for.
That would certainly explain things! :)
Thnaks for sticking with me on this - it's a steep learning curve for me and I'd used that original mmm file to experiment on, to get used the capabilities of the software.
I'm back from my trip and did a search for "Here I am." As far as I can tell, the name is only used in vocals under Rock Pop Vol. 7. The demo in which they are used is listed as "_Demo_Rock_Pop.MMM" and it includes much more than the Here I am vocals. Let me know if you find it.
I also found the compiled song "Here I am" as an ogg file under:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\Video_&_Slideshow_Sound_Archive_8_INT\05 music\01 modern background music\Rock - Metal
Thanks for your reply, it's been realyl helpful in getitng my head round this. I think the issue is that I can't find the mmm file. I thought it might be called 'HereIAm.mmm (or somethinglike that, but as you've correctly pointed out, it's actually called "_Demo_Rock_Pop.MMM". I've double (and triple checked) and I don't have that file - see attached screen grab
To make things more interesting :) I don't have the ogg file either - in fact I don't have a folder called "\Video_&_Slideshow_Sound_Archive_8_INT\05 music\01 modern background music\Rock - Metal" under "soundpools"
If you were to email me the "_Demo_Rock_Pop.MMM" file, would that solve my problem (I just want the original mmm compiled file to practise with).
Onwards and upwards!
Cheers again
Steve

The "\Video_&_Slideshow_Sound_Archive_8_INT came separately with something, maybe Movie Edit Pro.
You need to have the following files which are part of the Rock Vol 7 Soundpool in order to use the demo.
Do you have these on your computer?

One more thing, I make a copy of all of the demo files and their audio files to a separate drive, as the originals will be deleted when the program is installed.
I also keep a copy of the Soundpools - entire Soundpool folder, separately, in case something gets deleted.
After removing a program, I compare the Soundpool folders to see if anything was removed.
I do the same with the instruments and I keep the install files just in case.
Yes, I just checked, I have all these files. What do I need to do next?
(I like your backup strategy! I'm going to sdopt it going forward, so I don't ever end up in this mess again!)
Cheers
Steve

Just following-up my repIy to your PM to me! I located all the files that the software was having trouble locating, and I'm pleased to say all is good! I'm listening to the project (mmm) track right now...and it's just how I remember it. Now I can return to ruining it with my own variation! :)
