Hello! I'm having the same problem with my Music Maker but pressing the F4 key does nothing. Is there another solution that you are aware of? Thanks for your time
I am now having the same issue with Magix Music Maker Premium 2017. All of a sudden, no menu bar. I have tried F4 (nothing), I have removed the musicmaker.ini file as suggested (nothing happened). I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, and nothing happened.
I am using v24 on Dell laptop with Windows 10. This problem just came out of the blue and I'm not sure what to do. I've been using Magix products since 2007 so I'm not a rookie, but I'm about to pull out what little hair I have left. If I could find a menu I would try resetting the factory defaults, but I can't even find a way to do program settings without the menu bar.
So, I've run into this problem several times, and the F4 never worked for me. You can remove .ini files but that isn't always a problem solver either. I have the latest iteration of Magix and have found when this happens to click on the "view" tab at the top of the program, then click on "standard layout." While F4 is supposed to return you to the "standard layout" it doesn't always do so, but clicking on the "standard layout" fixes it for me. It is definitely a bug that usually appears after I try to use the timestretch/pitch option. For some reason it short circuits things and then gets rid of the menu bar on the bottom. Hope this works for you. Best of luck.
I have encountered this problem a couple of times also ( in MMM 2020 Premium )......and F4 didn't work.
I have found a solution that works for me.
The "u" key is an automatic shortcut into the "Manage Keyboard Shorcuts" function.
When this is activated..... scroll down to the " Reset programme settings to default" option ( just above Exit )
Highlight this and it should now show in the "Current Menu Item" text box below.
In the text box below that it will probably say " None" ( meaning that no keyboard shortcut is set which will reset the programme.
In this text box you can now enter any combination of key commands that you wish to assign to this function ( it's probably best select a combination that is difficult to accidently type - so, for example, I have set Ctrl Shift / as mine.) .... NOTE - don't try to delete the word None, it won't let you.....just simply type in your combo ( none will disappear automatically)
Once you have typed in your combination - hit " Assign Keyboard Shortcut" and your new combination will now appear in the square "Shortcuts" box to the right.
Now, whenever you encounter a problem with Music Maker and need to reset, simply type in your combination.
Note - this doesn't delete anything saved ( so projects, instruments and soundpools etc are not lost ) but you may have to re-set things like vst paths etc if you have those set ….. all other programme pathways ( that are default pathways) are retained.
