missing images from project file

I was using Magix 2015 pro video on Windows 7 on old computer where I produced a video when first getting the software. So i belive it did everything by proxy. So, when I got my new laptop Windows 10 had to reinstall magix. I pulled the old project file to the new laptop with the files in the folder, but now when I open the project the effects like rain and background images only some that were in the project and totally rendered in the project now no where and missing. Error message cannot find the files and it gives the file path. I'm using the most up to date version.

Obviously the file path isn't there on the new laptop, but I assumed the project folder would have all the files and images in it. Did it hide them somewhere on a proxy server, if so how the heck to i get them.

Hi

Assuming you still have the old computer then the files are on that machine in the location specified by the missing file message - you need to locate these and copy them to the laptop then when the error message opos up point to the location you put the files into.

A better way of transferring projects from one computer to the other is to use the Backup facility - File, Backup copy, Copy project and media into folder - on the old one then copy the folder created to the new computer.

Hi, thank you so much for your quick response. Yes I already tried to locate them and the folders were not there. I uninstalled the program from the old computer.

Hi

. . . . I uninstalled the program from the old computer. . . . .

Did you install all the extra downloads - templates, effects etc under Help, Free download ?
