Minor bug or by design?

To reproduce in MEP 2013.

Note the position of the orange timeline marker.

Open Effects >Effect settings movies... (Ctrl + b) and click Cancel (Escape).

Here the marker jumps to a the start of any (blue) range.

It's mildly annoying because I frequently toggle the TV area display, and so that loses my place.

Hi Terry

Mine does the same - however you must be using a different key mapping to me - the default for Effects >Effect settings movies on mine is Ctrl + Shift + H.

Annoying yes - quick workaround:-

Set the range start to the position where you want to be - timeline cursor automatically follows to same position.

Thanks John.

Yes, I quickly spotted that workaround, although occasionally of course you'll then sometimes change a range you'd deliberately left for some good reason!

BTW, I noticed that while the dialog is open the range temporarily extends over the whole timeline.

I've asked Support if this is a bug or by design.

Yes, I'm using the same old hotkeys I've saved for years!
