I have upgraded from MEP MX to MEP 2013. Is there a way to take the addtional feature (Red Giant Pro Vita...etc) that came with MEP MX and use them in MEP 2013. I asked this question before and go no response.
Sorry, I've not answered because I don't know. I can't say I've ever heard of the specific example you gave as an add-on for any version of MEP and, with a $799 price tag for some Red Giant products, I doubt they will! http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/ ADDED: I see they have cheaper single function products as well.
In general there are two interrelated issues for additional functions -- whether the add-on can work in a stand alone mode, and whether MEP 2013 can link to a particular external program. Some programs, say ones that do fancy titles, can be used on their own and export a title video clip to use in your MEP project. If the program works on video clips you may still be able to give it the necessary part (export the section from MEP), do whatever it does eg light rays, and then save the result. Finally bring the altered clip into MEP to replace the original bit of video.
The ease of integrated add-ons usually requires special code for each add-on in the host program. For Magix products this usually means only in the 'Premium' versions.
After loading MEP MX and MEP 2013, I have that addtional feature do migrate. I am able to use my New Blue FX , ProDAD and Red Giant in MEP 2013. I have not tested whether the features are backwards compatible. I will have to test this out but right I am really happy that it works. I will have to see if those programs continue to work if I uninstall MEP MX
Glad to hear that things are working out. I'd not worry about uninstalling MX. Multiple version of Magix software exist together OK. About the only thing I've noticed is a message if you try to run two at the same time and that is only a warning that multiple programs can't access the capture device /system.
Related: The Magix.Forum section has had quite a discussion about the embedded 3D Maker title program. The claim is made that if you download and install the free demo version of the standalone program you gain access to the full editing functions within MEP rather than being limited to the selection of templates.
