midi keyboard controller problems

i recently purchased a Akai professional MPK mini 2 midi keyboard and the only time i can hear it is during the playback. the program is picking up the keyboard but i try to test it out and i cant hear anything and even when i record it i still cant hear anything until i playback what i just recorded

does anyone know what im doing wrong?

As far as I know you must use Asio settings.

gunbjo i tried the asio settings and it wouldnt even allow me to playback what i had just recorded

Try it using the advanced setiings of www.asio4all.com.
