You can only edit the loops with the MIDI Editor that are actually MIDI phrases, but not the audio loops. When you look at the loops in Soundpool view, you can tell the two different types apart by means of the icon next to each loop. Audio loops will have a small speaker icon next to it and MIDI loops will have a small symbol next to it that shows an eighth note next to what is probably supposed to be a traditional DIN MIDI connector (round connector with 5 pins).

After bringing the loop into the arranger, you will usually also be able to distinguish between the two types fairly easily: For audio loops you will see the waveform representing the digitized signal. For MIDI loops you will see a small representation of the note pattern, usually looking like a few lines and dots.
