@LEEOCmusic

Hi,

Which program and version?

Which instrument?

Which keyboard?

"...each time i press 1" - are you pressing the 1 key or do you mean each time that you press a key.

In English, "i" meaning me, is always capitalized, as is the first word of a sentence.

This is called velocity. The harder you press the more volume. On some midi keyboards you can turn it off or reduce the range or velocity curve. Some programs allow the velocity curve to be set for the program. I don't think there's any option in Music Maker. Some Magix instruments have a stronger velocity response than others. The piano for instance. I think it's excessive when using my Launchkey. You can always amend velocity in the midi editor afterwards.

Thanks for replies. I think I just need to get better using new midi keyboard too lol. ie be more consistent with my key presses. Thanks for velocity info.

Ps I'm not English, I'm scouse 😁

So... Is not that option in Music Maker?

@Adrian-Mora You can edit the velocity after you recorded MIDI data or you need to configure your MIDI keyboard. If your keyboard cannot do this, then you need a DAW that can change the velocity dynamics, for example Samplitude Music Studio. You can get version 2019 at Humble Bundle for a low price at the moment. I highly recommend this because it is much better in MIDI recording and editing than Music Maker.
