Hi

Did any of you get a description of what the patch was fixing - I got a plain white dialog with no details at all about what the patch was fixing.

Thanks

Hi John EB,

I should have done a screen grab as the interface for the update looked different, I think. I don't recall seeing anything about what was fixed for 159.

Greetings,

The patch screen was different, a basic white screen with Magix-blue surround. I specifically looked for an "in this update" line but there wasn't one or indeed anything that indicated what the update was for.

Still, my concern has been solved. Shame about the opening screen; still find that annoying.

AndyW

EDIT - Last weekend I started a project using the program in compatibility mode as per John CB's earlier post. Just come to carry on with the project and noticed that all the bits I'd cropped with "section" that looked fine under compatibility mode now look as they did prior to this patch. So it looks like I need to finish this one in CM.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my system ( I have had one or two issues with my Nvidia card)?

Hi

Thanks for the replies - it was not just me then.

Good to know

@me_again

. . . . Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my system ( I have had one or two issues with my Nvidia card) . . . .

AFAICS if you have an Intel system with no additional graphics card, then these odd visual display errors do not occur so frequently.

Greetings ....

Thanks for the reply John. No onboard though in my motherboard, so stuck with the add-in.

.... and whoops,

The patch seems to only partially work! On my system anyway.

Sequence tested:-

  1. Crop (section) - looks OK
  2. change to Camera/zoom and add a couple of points - looks OK
  3. add sharpen or gamma brightness - error returns, sometimes corrected by undo or reset but still inconvenient.

Again I ask, is it me?

I agree Andy, everything was OK, crop, camera zoom and gamma but when I tried 'sharpen' then the section problem reoccurred.

  4. hard drive configuration, sizes and free space?
  5. Windows version?  Press and hold down the Windows key and the R key - in the dialog that opens type in winver and press enter.

Can you gives us a little more detail please: processor make/model, do you have a NVidia or AMD graphics card installed if so which model.

I too updated to Windows 1709 after installing the .158 patch - has not affected any of my Magix programs, but has messed up Firefox to the point where it regularly crashes 😡

I suspect something to do with the video card as all is well when using compatibility mode, not dedicated card mode.

I've re-raised the issue with Support so time will tell, hopefully only a little time.

Hi guys,

Sorry, the official translation for version 17.0.2.159 takes a little longer than expected. I try to translate the german post, I made here: https://www.magix.info/de/forum/neuer-patch-fr-video-deluxe-premium-2018-version-17-0-2-159--1199642/

I'm no english native speaker therefore I take no resposibility in the correct wording here. 😅

  • program now closes correct when the option "hide news " is active
  • fixed a bug where the wrong display of clips with the option "complete fill"
  • search in the Templates, Audio and Store tab is now working again
  • Now longer crashes when closing the program while the news center is open

I will add an official post in the news section as soon as I get the correct translation.

Best regards,
Mathias

browj2 wrote on 12/13/2017, 8:17 AM

Hi Mathias,

Close enough. I presume that the second one, "complete fill" is the one related to "Section" as it did not fill the screen in Size/Position after taking a section.

Thanks,

@browj2

Hi

. . . . The other problem is that my video camera is ill, maybe terminally since I took it apart, so I am looking at getting another one, but what. . . . .

Oh dear - not a good sign.

Do you have just the one camera or a sportscam as well.

If both, I would recommend getting a pair same make the same sensor - saves you a lot of trouble trying to match disparate camera colour profiles.

Personally I would go for Sony first, I have both a Handycam and sportscam - same sensor in them, Panasonic second and I would not entertain any camera that records in MOV format.

. . . . heading off to Charlevoix (once again) for the Christmas holidays. I have to try out my new X-country skis, get on the slopes, and go snowshoeing . . . .

We are going to Austria in Jan skiing, I am still on the same skis I bought 10 years ago, not done X-country or snow shoeing yet.

HTH

John EB

@johnebaker

I have a Canon DSLR t4i and two cell phones BB Z10 and LG G4 (abandoned by my wife) which has 4k capability. The ill video cam is a Canon Vixia HFR21. I looked at the Hero 5 Black, which I could get with my Air Miles (should probably use them). I may go for this, but it doesn't replace my handheld video camera that I liked a lot. I looked at new Canon models and am tempted, but 4k may be nice for the future. However, there is nothing in my price range. The Sony is about 1000 CAD but is much heavier/bulkier than my old Canon. I will look at the Panasonic as well.

My X-country shoes embarrassingly came apart at the seam between the boot and the sole last year while putting them on. Strange, the skis look new (bought in about 1975 or so) but the boots got old and the 3-pin model no longer exists except in museums.

Greetings

The new patch to 17.02.166 seems to work, All the things that I were wrong on my system now work as befor the previous 2 patches, and now that I can work in Standard mode (Hardware acceleration) with my Nvidia 750ti, not compatibility mode, the program seems faster and better that before. This presumably was what the first December patch was supposed to do.
