MEP 2016 Plus - Successful VOB - But No Sound

Hi Gang

MEP 2016 Plus successfully extracted a single movie from a DVD (no menus). I was prompted to download an 'expansion package' to complete the audio process and did so ....

However there is No Audio and (of course) no option to display Wav forms ..

As Alwyn pointed out the Data Rate is higher when preserved as a 'VOB' and inserted onto the timeline for editing. And of course (as Alwyn pointed out), if one converts to AVI, the data rate becomes undesirable. I do have the option of creating a wav file from an AVI conversion and importing that onto the timeline. (Or) I still have the option of using Wondershare ....

Alwyn also mentioned:

"MEP's handling of VOBs is arcane: what you do is drag the first VOB of the movie ie VTS_01_1.VOB onto the timeline and MEP will automatically add the remaining VOBs for that movie"

Hi Alwyn - Thanks sooo much for the PDF! BTW I've been using your recommended MPEG2's for the VOB extraction/conversion and they're working out fine thanks...

Only one thing regarding use of the wondershare MPEG2's in FC on the Mac, they all require Rendering ..... (which didn't surprise me). Unless of course I use the Macs and 'Stream Clip' to do the VOB extractions? And I believe there's a 'ProRes' setting in Stream Clip that minimizes Render time. However the reason for using the PC and wondershare or even MEP, is to give those old Mac machines a break, (they're old and really get HOT), and I've got quite a lot of VOB's to extract ...
