MEP 2015 Pro Plus : Error in module "mc_enc_avc.dll" HELP

Muwex wrote on 9/2/2015, 8:25 AM

Still not solved :/

So my MEP keeps crashing randomly when rendering with mainconsept avc. Program just freezes and stops responding, have to shut program down from task manager.

Some edit for here also: Rendering without GPU, cuz if i render with GPU, it says error and wont even start to render... GPU driver is latest beta from AMD.

Kinda new build. Installed Windows 10 , 1.9.2015.

My system:

i7 3770k @4.5GHz Stable

R9 290x 4GB without any OC

Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3

8GB Kingston Beast memory

Windows 10 Pro 64bit OS

Software version number: 14.0.0.183 (UDPP3) [LATEST]

Tell me if i need to add more, but here is crash log:

Hi

Do you have this option when exporting / rendering turned on ?

If so try rendering with it turned off.

Hi

. . . . mainconsept avc . . . .

This could be a difficult one to pin down due to no identifying data in the crash dumps.

I suspect the issue is some conflict related to the MainCocept OpenCL GPU encoder still trying to use the GPU to encode video using the R9 290X which in itself could be a compatability issue.

Do you have Hardware Acceleration turned on in the programs settings, Video Audio tab, if so try turning it off and rendering again.

If that fails, do you have the option of using the Intel (Default) codec instead of the MainConcept codec - in the program settings - Y key - System tab, lower right as shown below ?

If so try exporting using the Intel codec.

You could also try pulling the R9 290X and try rendering again using the i7's integrated graphics chipset.

From the spec, I would suspect this is a gaming computer as well - if so do you have some screen capture software runnng continuously?

Hi!

in System tab (Y) There is no Intel codec available. Will try to render more, with every GPU stuff disabled.

Yeah, this is Gaming PC. I do have secondary monitor. Raptr (AMD) program has not been on when rendering (screen "streaming" program) and no other capture programs continuesly on.

If nothing else works, i have to try to pull that R9 out, sad that i can't RMA it either just cuz of this... I was much happyer with my "old" GTX 680. Even tho this is way more powerfull.

Thanks man again. Will keep this updated! :)

Muwex wrote on 9/2/2015, 2:43 PM

SOLVED!! Thanks to johnebaker!!!

Problem was: I had to have every GPU encoder related stuff switch them off. R9 290X got some compatibility issues it seems like. Just duoble check before export that every GPU acceleration end everything was off from Progam settings (System) and export settings

Edited that to first post also!

Thanks again johnebaker!!! Big love <3

Hi!

Seems like problem is still not solved, keep getting this error now and then still. Making me pretty mad atm. if i may say. Tried many more things also, like uninstalling AMD drivers and export without them. Disabled iGPU from bios, still no fix. On monday i should get my hands on EVGA GTX 760 SSC ACX 2.0 so maybe it helps. I really need to get my videos, like this over 1h video, it needs so much time to render so more time to "crash".

Also i know i could pull my R9 290X out and just try to use onboard, but i don't have any HDMI monitor near me or adapter to get DVI to HDMI soooo... yeh that is not an option then.

Thanks and sorry i said it became solved because i thought so...

Hi

. . . . but i don't have any HDMI monitor near me or adapter to get DVI to HDMI . . . .

???

All the motherboards, I have come across, with on board graphics have a t least a VGA and DVI socket.and have never come across a motherboard that has just an HDMI output.

. . . . I really need to get my videos, like this over 1h video, it needs so much time to render . . . .

How much time for a 1 hour video?

For me it takes for 1h video 1h render (1080p 30fps 10 000 bitrate)

This mobo has only HDMI for iGPU.

mATX Mobo this Asus Maximus iv Gene-z/Gen3

Here is latest crash log: (if it has even any difference) [would help if i know more what to look for in it, i guess those under "call stack:"?

Also weird is that i can't export using hardware acceleration, at all. It wont start, it says that it was ancelled due to an unknown error and no any log so can't see any more information i guess about that, no mater what drivers i use.

Hi there,

A suggestion, never use beta drivers as they are often unstable, install the latest stable drivers and see if it works better. Video editing software are usually the most finicky ones, so beta drivers are not good to use.

Hi,

I think you need to talk to tech support about this, I don't think many of us can read crash dumps. Could be a bug in MEP, or some software drivers that are in conflict, or maybe you have have OC'd CPU or RAM that MEP doesn't like. Could just be plain incompatibility with your chipset. I am just shooting in the dark here.

I had a weird problem like this back in the days, (different editor) would work fine, but then certain things just kept crashing it, in the end it was the motherboard chipset that was incompatible. So I changed software lol. Sorry I cannot help you any further.

Thanks for pointing to tech support tho, didn't even think that too much, only told them about improvements to support hardware acceleration with new GPU's.
