MEP 2013 constantly getting error 1

I bought Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus on Steam a while back and when I first purchased the program it worked fine and had continued to work for a while. Recently however I had to reinstall the program and since then I get error 1 messages from the program every time I start it up(This program could not be started. It's possible that the instilation folder is damaged.) I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times at this point and I continue to get the same error.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 on an Intel core i7-2600 CPU at 3.40 GHz.

You need to use the Magix Cleaner available here between uninstall and re-install to remove any remnants of the program that is left behind. Only then will you get a clean install

What caused the need to re-install?

Was this after April 9th ? If so then you may have been affected by a problem with the Microsoft Update KB2823324 which should be uninstalled if you are affected.
