Menu changes not taking effect

lynns wrote on 8/31/2013, 11:22 AM

I've tried about 20 times or more to change the menu, and everytime I do, nothing changes. It seems to be a pretty simple problem, I just can't figure out how to save the changes when I go back to the menu settings.

(I've now uploaded the two screen images. One of the menu, and another of the arranger with the changes I've been trying to make).

Hi,

Are you talking about the burn menu when you try to burn a DVD?  If so, once you find the one you want, click "apply" and that should get you your menu.

Thank you, however that’s what I always do and nothing takes effect. I go to the “arranger” in the menu template, and then after I’ve made my changes, I go back to the menu and it asks if I want to apply the changes, and of course I click ‘yes’. Though when it takes me back, no changes have taken effect.

Hi

Which template are you trying to change?

Can you post a screen shot of the changes you are making or give more detail?

It may just be that the changes you are making are not permitted by the template.

John

Hi,

I never thought of that before. That's a very good guess. I'll try and post a picture soon.

Hi

That template is one I do not have ( I have VPX 4), however it does look very similar to one of the templates in MEP 2013.

The similar MEP 2013 template only allows me to change the video/image clips on track 1 and the sound track, I can making other changes, eg add video/images to track 3 for example, and save them, however they do not appear in the menu .

Hi,

I may well be missing something here.  Why not just create a menu from scratch (user defined).  You can use any background you want including the ones in the templates (most are bitmap files but some are jpeg).  You can edit the background in an external editor, add video for chapters, do whatever you want with the text, etc.

What am I missing?
