major delay when playing on a keyboard

When my keyboard works on Music Maker15 there is a a delay between playing the note and the PC recognising the note and playing it on the system. It is not also the same delay. How do i fix this problem. I am using a keyboard through USB port on Win XP

Hi,
You are in fact experiencing MIDI or USB latency. Unlike audio recording where you have the option of using ASIO low latency drivers; you're using a MIDI keyboard which does not have that luxury.

You'll have to play with buffer settings to improve latency - also make sure you're on a USB 2.0 port. MIDI latency can usually be minimised with buffer settings but many times you simply have to monitor your keyboard through an audio jack while recording with MIDI.
