Maintaining Project DVD Menu Formating - MEP 16 Plus

Edit 25-10-2011 - Rephrased Question

I have several  (3) small projects,  that I completed including DVD menu Formatting backed up.

Now I created a new project  called  Compilation 1 and imported the three small projects discussed above.

When I imported the smaller projects  into Compilation 1...........................

All the menu formatting of the smaller imported projects was lost.

How can I ensure imported projects do not lose  DVD menu formatting?

Thanks In Advance.

Hi Whalebat

AFAIK you can not keep the DVD menu formatting, a project can only have one DVD menu with submenus and when you attach the small projects you are only attaching the movie (MVD file) which does not include the DVD menu which is stored in the MVP file .

There are 2 work arounds - the first will give you sequential menus ie force the viewer to follow the compilation in order ie there is no 'master menu' just part 1 with a button to part 2 and so on:

1    Open the first of the small projects.

2    Without closing the open project,  open the second project and Add New Project to the existing one.

3    Repeat 2 for the third project.

4    Save the compilation with a new name.

The new project will have the DVD menu of the 1st part .  You can now select and change the menus as you wish.

To apply different templates to the different menus:

Click once on the template you want and then click the down arrow next to the Apply button and click Add to the current page menu.

This will add the template to the current page only.  Do not double click any template as this will apply it to all pages.

You can then modify each menu as you need, remembering that some sections eg Title are common to all pages, so you will have to delete and add new ones if necessary.

For a 'master menu' where the user can jump direct to a part of the complilation

5    Export each small project movie File, Manage Movies,  Export

6    Start a new project. and add each movie in order File, manage Movies, Attach

7    Then apply different templates to the different menus as above:
