Magix won't recognize my sound card as an input device

Hi,

I'm having some trouble with Magix Music Maker 2014 premium. I'm trying to connect my midi keyboard to the program, but when I go to settings and look at my options for an input device, it won't show anything! It recognizes the sound card as an audio playback device, but no input. So you may be thinking that my card just isn't compatible. But before I had to reinstall Music Maker, it worked flawlessly. (I had to reinstall because I upgraded my OS) But now I can't even find the device! I'm completely lost and could definitely use some help right about now, so all/any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update: My keyboard connects to my sound card (Creative AudioPci ES1371, ES1373 [WDM]) via midi to DB15 cable. (as pictured) My model/make of my keyboard is Studio 37 Fatar.  And I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.

Update (6/15): I've now noticed that MMM won't recognize my microphone either. And that's plugged into my integrated sound card! I've tested it with Skype, and other sound recorder programs and it works fine! So I have absolutely no idea what to do anymore. Should I just try reinstalling MMM again?

Please state some details of your hardware e. g. name of the soundcard, model of the keyboard and which os you are using. Is your device connected to an usb 3.0 port?

Hi

. . . . Magix won't recognize my sound card as an input device . . . . I'm trying to connect my midi keyboard to the program . . . . sound card as an audio playback device, but no input. . . .

If you are connecting the MIDI keyboard by USB then the audio card has nothing to do with recording MIDI - you set the MIDI input device here in the programs settings

If the MIDI keyboard also has audio output and it is this that you are trying to record, then if you have a Realtek HD Audio chipset / card you need to enable the Stereo Mixer which is disabled in the Control Panel,  Sound settings see images below

Right click the blank area below the existing recording device and select the options shown.

NOTE: make sure you turn off the computers system sounds when recording via the stereo mixer otherwise you will get beeps etc recorded as well.

Hi

Wow that one is a blast from the past !

Check that the MIDI device is detected in Windows Device Manager - IIRC it should appear under Sound and Audio Devices.

Which drivers do you have installed - the original Ensonic ones or Creative Labs?

Did the keyboard/sound card MIDI input work OK with whatever software you were using prior to MMM 2014?

If the MIDI is detected in Device Manager and the drivers are correct then the MIDI device should appear in the programs options.
