Hi,

Use the converter supply by DivX software, you use a third party software and probablysomething differerent.

DivX has a free download and a try version.

Hi

What is the original file format that contains the AVC video?

Is there a specific reason why you are you converting  to the MKV format when the converter you are using can output other formats that are also supported by Pro X 5?

John

Hi

. . . . .I am using mts2 original format . . . . i want this on an dvd . . .

In this case there is no need to convert the mts files.

Import them directly into Pro X, make any edits necessary and add any effects, transitions, titles that you want.

Use the Burn option select a menu template and burn direct to DVD to create a finished video on DVD complete with menu.

Hi,

Do yourself a big favor and listen to what John says.  He has been working with these products for longer than you and I together.  He knows what works and what does not regardless of the specifications.  At the end of the day, we all want to make movies, not argue about how it should work.  Remember, no one here works for Magix, we are all users helping other users.  I trust John's advice completely, and if he says this is what you should do, then that is what you should do.

Hi Gandjcarr,

First off all i respect everyone here on the forum with there answers.

But let me explane you with an example if you buy a new car and your airco are not working, you go back to the garage, and they say to you why are you worry about the airco, you can  open your window ???? (is that why you buy a new car with airco)

So please response only if you have a good idea, for my problem.

i have a mts2 file that i convert to mkv ( using AVG prof) the mkv file a drop to magix pro x 5 and i get the eror as above

thanks

Hello Pinnoes.

I suspect no-one can directly answer your question since converting mts (or similar) files to any other format before importing them to VPX is not necessary and, potentially, a waste of time.  In other words, no-one actually works that way!

VPX can handle the raw mts files so why bother?  Your comment that mkv files have "data that are smaller" suggests you have a problem storing/working with the larger mts files.  The solution to that is a larger or additional hard drive.

Jeff

Update:  As a quick experiment I converted a 20 second mts file to mkv format, using two different convertors.  In neither case could VPX5 open or read the resulting file!
