Magix outputs AVCHD DVD's as BDMV but I need BDAV for my Blu-ray Panasonic player; can I do this?

I just want to know if there is a difference and can I get around this problem. I have used my Sony DVD-RW burner with Corel's VideoStudio7 X4 +Pro and successfully burned AVCHD DVD disks that play on my new Panasonic Blu-ray player. Hate to think that Magix Movie Editor Pro 17+ was just a waste of money. I did try the trial online but for that I needed to buy the codec to burn a AVCHD DVD so never thought twice there would be a problem. Therefore I went ahead and bought the boxed version that was on sale for Boxing Day. The burned disk will play on the Sony computer burner. Somebody Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardware

Asus P6T X58 Intel 920i7 with Sony Dual Layer DVD-+RW DRU-800A Burner
Panasonic DMP-BD75 Blu-ray TV player with latest firmware update via LAN
 OS Win7 64 bit Ultimate

Magix pro 17+ version 10.0.12.2 (UCI)

Hi

If you can play commercial BD movies on the player then you should be able to play your own discs.

I suspect you may have used the wrong codec settings.

On the Burning dialog, select H264, click the Encoder settings button and from the top drop down select the appropriate Blue-ray option for your area.

Then burn to disc.

Tip: Use rewriteable discs until you are satifsfied with the final movie, then burn to disc.

Hi

I too have a Sony HD camera and it records AVCHD and I have no problems creating BD discs on std DVD.

However from your additional info it looks like you are selecting to burn AVCHD disc.

This I think may be the problem - your player may not handle AVCHD discs properly, only standard Blu-ray.

Try selecting burn Blue-ray disc. and set the options as previously stated.

My Blu-ray player does play AVCHD disks and I burned one with another program and it played fine. I did mention that. I have a Sony DV Handycam, not a HD camera. My computer burner can only burn standard DVD disks and AVCHD disks.

"On the Burning dialog, select H264" That seems to be the only choice since it is automatic when selecting AVCHD Disk Burning. Hate to throw out all my DVD disks. Need to buy a Blu-ray burner and try again or I'll buy Corel's VideoStudio7 X4 Pro. It does burn AVCHD disks the way I want and plays perfectly on my Panasonic Blu-ray player.

Hi

Are you using the option shown in this image:

and selecting one of these options to suit your locale and audio requirements

These create Blu-ray standard discs which can be played on any BD player.

How to get the video from the camera depends on the model you have - does it record to hard drive, memory card,  DV tape or mini DVD discs?
