Magix music maker 14 producer edition (Can retake when recording) HELP

gareth-hunt wrote on 8/2/2017, 3:24 PM

Been struggling for weeks with a recording problem. Every time i record vocals and press retry take after not being happy with a recording or vocal. I press retake to be able just to start the recording again and it doesn't let me. I just keep getting a pop up message saying CANNOT OPEN NEW PROJECT . I am sure my sound card setting and everything is set up right because it does like me record......BUT the first take, But if i choose to retake it doesn't work unable to choose the retry take option. And once after this happens i am unable to record again unless i close the program and start it up again. And the it just does the same over again....Can anyone HELP? Thank you

Hi

. . . . Magix music maker 14 producer edition . . . .

We need more information:-

  1. What version of Windows is this running on?

  2. Have you restarted the computer using - Start button, Power, Restart ?

  3. Has this recently started - if so what changed on the computer?

  4. What is the version number of the program as found under Help, About . . . ?

  5. Have you reset the program back to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset . . . . ?

Hi

There are potentially 2 issues here:

  1. . . . . reinstalled afew times . . . .

This will not fix some issues unless you remove the files left behind by the un-installer - try re-installing using this procedure.

  2. . . . . I noticed this only happened after my computer did a windows update . . .

Check your audio card drivers have not been updated by Windows.

Was this the Anniversary update from August 2016 or the Creators update which started rolling out in April 2017? If either than re-install as in 1.

Note: Magix Music Maker 14 producer edition is not compatible with Windows 10 and you may still have issues after trying the above.
