Getting frustrated - I cannot get to the F1 help like in your video - It had options and I selected Notepad++ by mistake and now I cannot get out of Notepad++ when pressing F1. And I did not see any way of getting to the traditional Windows help.

@Dennis-Vogel

Hi Dennis,

Change noted.

Magix recently changed the on-board Help, F1, from the legacy Windows Help type file to HTML. When you press on F1, the file should open in your browser. There should be no need for Notepad++ or any other program. If it does not open in your browser automatically, then there is something wrong with your setup. What is your default browser?

Alternatively, Under Help, Download Manual (PDF). Nothing has changed there are you should download and use the manual.

Hi

. . . . It had options and I selected Notepad++ by mistake and now I cannot get out of Notepad++ when pressing F1. . . .

Do the following

  • Locate the help file named EditInterface.htm which is in the folder

    C:/Program Files/MAGIX/Movie Studio 2023 Suite/Help/en/Content/Topics/

  • Right click it and select Open with from the popup

  • Find you web browser entry, if it is not there select Choose another app and browse for where the web program you use is installed and select its executable file, it has the .exe file extension

  • At the bottom of the popup you should see a check box Always use this program to open ..... check it and then OK

F1 should now open the help file in your browser.

BTW, I've been using versions Movie Studio Platinum for the last eight or ten years. Currently using version 16.

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum has been discontinued. Vegas Software Team concentrates their resources on Vegas Edit/Pro. The current Magix Movie Studio is a completely different program that just changed its name from "Magix Movie Edit Pro" to "Magix Movie Studio".

If you want to get the same UI and way of operating as Vegas movie Studio 16, you should upgrade to Vegas Edit. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/free-trials/video-editor-free-download/

And how do I contact someone for a refund to purchase an older version if I need to?

If you want a refund, please do so as soon as possible to avoid missing the refund time.
