Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 freeze

Kobi07 wrote on 10/4/2016, 1:03 PM

Hello. This is my first post on this forum so hello everyone.
I use Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016. So far, no major problems.
I have recently bought ActionCam Xiaomi Yi 4k.
When I try to preview the file Magix freeze.
Another situation. I can move the file to the timeline (with out preview), when I click on the timeline I see changing picture but when I want to play the movie Magix crashes. The lower bar displays Preloading about 45% and nothing further happens.
I must turn off Magix through Task Manager.
My older Pinnacle Studio 12 has no problem with these files.
I wrote to Magix support but echo. Zero response.
Do you have an idea what you can do with it?

Have you found the solution? I have the same isue with my Magix softwer, i have done a reinstalation with all updates and nothing has changed...

emmrecs wrote on 2/26/2017, 11:15 AM

@Badi91, my suspicion is that the high bit rate of your footage (assuming you are also using 4k video) is rather too high for MEP to easily handle on your computer.

However, have you read this post: https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/please-do-the-following-before-posting-your-question--621831/? We really do need ALL the information requested there to have any chance of offering a possible solution. In addition, you need to give a lot more information about the actual video files you are using. The originator of this thread used the free MediaInfo to supply that information in his post; you need to do the same.

Jeff thank you for your respond. I'm sure this problem is not becouse of the bit rate and computer problems. My PC's specyfication is: Intel i7, 16GB of RAM 3000Mhz, GPU R9 290X (4GB), Windows 10. I use MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2016 version 15.0.0.107. All updates (Windows, Magix) are done.

I also found that the main issue is with the sound becouse when i remove the audio there is no problem with playback the video.

Here is the guy who had the same problem, () I asked him if he found the solution but unfortunatly he didn't (he just changed camera for gopro).

Here are the information about the video file:

What is drive E: - an internal hard drive and external hard drive, memory card or memory stick, the camera or what?

Are you using this file direct from the E: drive?

Have you found the solution?

Hi everyone.

So I found a solution. I bought the latest Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate and finished the project :-)
I had no time until the support will help me.

Support finally contacted me. I sent them the sample files, and only what they answered. It's works!!! Everythink is fine!!!.

Thanks a lot, but why does not work at my computer?

I had WIN 7 64bit. My colleague borrow me clean (2 weeks) brand new computer with WIN 10. Exactly the same. Everything hangs.

So I installed WIN 10 + Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate + Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate (ALWAYS have instaled "just in case" for example, Magix does not support 3GP(or maybe just on my computer 3gp are not supported)) + K-Lite codec pack. For testing installed Resolve software. Then Magix Movie Edit Pro 2017 shows on the web page.

Hmmm Ok let's give a chance, so I downloaded the trial and WORKS!!! Yes everythink works!!!

I did not installed 2016 so I don't know if it works after installing the codecs and the above-mentioned applications.

Magix has a small software analysis computer. I analyzed 10 times, and I sent to them. They answered only that they did not get anything ehhhh.
Therefore, in my opinion, for 100% something is missing in the system.

Install the package of codecs and check. Resolve is free so install and check. I do not know if Pinnacle has TRIAL.
Any way the 2017 version works for me with Xiaomi 4K files.
Good luck.

I have always enjoyed the features of this editing software on my Dell Inspiron 3668, but lately I have had similar problems since the Oct. 2018 Windows update: slow-mo stopped working, crashes and and the software refuses to shut down showing "the program is in use", unless I use task manager

It’s about 22 months since the last reply in this thread before yours, so I’d suggest you create a new thread with full details of your problem.
