Magix Movie Edit 2022 - Black Screens keep appearing!

jakoman62 wrote on 12/28/2022, 9:08 AM

Hi all,

I have used Magix for a number of years and recently bought a new computer to create more videos, running Windows 11 and the following specs. I haven't changed anything else (i.e. filmed with the same cameras etc):

Processor    AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics            2.90 GHz
Installed RAM    16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable)
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch    No pen or touch input is available for this display

Since using the program (Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus 2022), some of the clips turn black in the preview mode and then also don't render. Is someone able to help me get to the route of the issue? I have tried to look at other forums but with no luck.

Thanks in advance

Hi

In addition to @ericlnz and @emmrecs comments.

. . . . AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics  . . . .

Are the Radeon graphics drivers up to date - the latest version is Adrenalin 22.11.2 released 12-08-2022.

Is there a Nvidia GPU also installed in this laptop?

If so what is the full model name and are its drivers up to date?

Hi all, thanks for your replies so far. Apologies for the delayed response. I haven't had access to the computer until now.

@emmrecs - how do I get that data? Sorry!

@johnebaker - how do I find out about the Nvidia GPU? I have installed the latest AMD software

@ericlnz - please find screenshot below:

@jakoman62

To get the screenshot I asked for, with the program open go to File>Settings>Program. On the screen that opens click on the Device Options tab and take a screenshot of it to post here.

You can be installing the latest chipset drivers and not necessarily the graphics drivers.

@jakoman62

If your system has a separate graphics card it should show up in the programs settings.

Top bar of the program, click on and follow the links to, File / Settings / Program / and go to the Device options tab. It should show in any of the Import, Processing, or export drop down boxes. If only your AMD graphics appears then try selecting CPU for all of those three boxes instead and see if you suffer the same problems.
