Hi

It sounds like that you need the correct mp4 codecs for your phone videos. They are more than likely not the 'standard' mp4 codecs.

Use GSpot available here to analyse the mp4s you are trying to load and determine which codecs are in the mp4.

GSpot will also tell you if the codecs are installed - clck the blue 1 button bottom left of the GSpot window and it will try to render them - wait for this to finish before trying the 2 and 3 button if they become available.

Have you installed the software that came with the phone - this should contain the correct codecs for the videos?

Thanks for the responses.

YES, I am currently having this same problem. When i convert the MP4 video into another format the quality is reduced alot!.. any help would be much appreciated. Can Movie Edit pro not directly import mp4 formats?

@ecarte

Please do not resurrect an old thread especially if your are not using Movie Edit Pro 14.

Create a new topic and give more information see here - include:

  1. Computer specification ie processor, RAM, graphics card / chipset used, hard drives configuration and free space
  2. Windows version and if Windows 10 was this an upgrade from 7 or 8.
  3. Program fullname - do not abbreviate the version number
  4. Source of the video files
