MAGIX DRM policies only hurt paying customers. - And now they violate freedom of speech.

My previous thread was locked and closed. Hey Bob Braun, this is a brilliant way to handle serious customer problems from a customer who has been purchasing MAGIX products for almost 20 years.

http://www.magix.info/us/almost-20-year-user-will-never-buy-another-magix.forum.1159521.html

So you just lock the thread? Thats an obvious attempt to censor discussion of these issues.

Not before however, someone deleted my last reply to the thread. Whats the matter Bob Baun. Your supposed to be a support manager at MAGIX? You should be able to easily fix my problems, yet so far, you refuse to, handing my problems off to one of your underlings (who did nothing also)

You don't want users to know how you treat customers that have been buying your software for almost 20 years? Then perhaps you should fix these problems. I'd like a copy of the eulas emailed to me also.

If your going to cite EULA as a reason for your software slavery of me, then I have a right to the copies of those slavery agreements I apparently agreed to.

I suppose you will just delete the thread next.

People who are doing nothing ethically wrong are not afraid of critiscism. Maybe I touched a nerve? Your company has been treating paying customers like this for many years. I find it laughable that had I just downloaded pirated (cracked) copies for free instead of paying your company so many times over the years I would not have these problems right now and my software would just work.

A quick search of torrent sites reveals that your drim polocies have done nothing to stop the problem they were

intended to. They only apparently negatively affect paying customers, which you continue to abuse and mistreat any way you wish apparently.

I suppose I can now add censorship and violating people's freedom of speech to the list of ethical lapses taking place at your company, especially at the support level, which is apparently run by you Bob Baun.

I did not agree to have my posts censored. You have no right to attempt to take away my freedom of speech. Don't want someone being critical of your unethical treatment of your customers? Then stop treating your paying customers like worse than the criminals you are trying to stop from stealing your software.

I can provide proof of purchase for all my products. Still, your software prevents me from legally using it. Had I just stolen it, it would work right now. Yet you, as the profiteer who profited from my legal purchases so many times over the years, will do nothing to rectify my problems?

If you Bob Baun, can not alleviate my problems within a reasonable timeframe, and I believe a few days is reasonable, then I will be forwarding my entire collection of evidence to your CEO. I will make sure I express to him how I came to you for help, Bob Baun, and you did nothing but delete my replies to the original thread here, lock the thread to prevent further discussion, blow me off in email and violate my freedom of speech here in the forums.

Previously deleted reply to previous thread :

" The first problem was the installation would not work for my legally purchased copy of magix video 17. I was told on your forum this issue has been addressed.

Two issues remain. My legally purchased copy of Magix video 12 will not work in a virtualbox installation of windows. This is because your copy protection does not recognize your own legally purchased original disc for some reason. I'd like a copy of this version with the drm or disc checking features removed.

Providing me with a copy of magix video 12 without the disc protection so that the software will work
for me again should be easy enough for you to do. Saying its obsolete or no longer supported does not solve
my problem, that is simply a cop out so you won't have to do anything to address this problem that your unethical copy protection has created for someone who purchased a legal copy from you. People who illegally download this version from torrent sites? Those peoples illegally obtained copies work. My legally purchased copy does not work. You don't see anything wrong with that?

You can email me a link to this copy with the drm features removed in .iso format please.

Finally, you did not address the mpg activation issue. I'd like an activation code emailed to me without additional expense.I would not have made this purchase had I known you would use your online connection to my computer to cripple the software and then attempt to extort additional money from me.

That is unethical and quite possibly illegal. The mpg functions worked when I originally purchased the software. Why then, should I have to pay you again to make them work again?

Best regards,
Steven

Hello,

Sorry, but I'll make this short:

Your case has been dealt with in support and your points have been addressed. This is not a matter of "freedom of speech", either. This forum is operated by MAGIX, and our terms and conditions apply here.

Movie Edit Pro 12 is no longer a supported product. You are using it on an operating system that is no longer even supported by Microsoft, and for which our developers would thus no longer address problems. For obvious reasons, we will not create and supply you with an alternative version of this product that doesn't use any kind of copy-protection/DRM mechanism.

Movie Edit Pro 17 is a much newer generation of this software. We have resolved your problem with the activation limit, and you have since successfully reactivated it.

Any codec activation would be carried out through the program. This doesn't usually involve our support. Most of these are free activations. According to your customer record, you have now also successfully activated MPEG-4 again since you reinstalled the software. If we're talking about a paid-for codec activation that you paid for before, you would also have an option to re-activate this for free. If you have any specific (technical) problem with the codec activation, which you haven't indicated here, you could have brought this up to our support, when they specifically asked you to describe what your problem is.

Looks to me like all of your points have been addressed.

Best regards
