Hi

When you restart MMM it should automatically save a backup copy of the project every 10 mins by default. and ask you if you want to restore a backup file if it crashes - unless you have turned this off in the programs settings.

The cause of the crashing is more difficult to find without diagnosis and monitoring tools.

However, from past experience, and if you are experiencing no other crashing in normal use with other programs, I would suspect that the laptop may be overheating when pushed really hard by MMM - you may notice the fans speeding up if they are loud enough.

This needs checking first - you can monitor the laptops temperatures using a program such as SpeedFan.

If there is overheating this may be due to reduced air circulation from blocked vents, dust in the heatsink or using the laptop on your knees - not recommedned despite being called laptops - they can get very hot underneath.
