Hi John

There was no mention in the patch details about the Vita file error, item 3 on the bug list, being fixed, it is still present.

I came back to this forum with questions in mind, thinking I might want to upgrade from Music Maker 2020 Premium to 2021 Premium.

I am very glad for many of the comments posted. At first I was discouraged, but after reading everything ( not necessarily understanding everything ) I have decided to go ahead and buy the upgrade and install in a separate folder.

The comments answered my biggest question without my having to ask it, and raised a few hopefully smaller issues for me to worry about after I upgrade.

Thank you all.

Hi! On 7/4/2020 I posted a more 'in depth' 😉 investigation concerning the problems I encountered loading older Soundpools in MM2021. Pools/ instruments which caused NO problem at all in my 64bit Magix Samplitude. I supposed it could be related to the fact that the problematic soundpools contain .TAK files for several, especially Vita instruments, alongside the well known .wav and . ogg samples.
Well, very strange things happened this evening:

  • I started MM2021, tested all these problematic soundpools once more...and, all of a sudden, most of them worked well!
  • ...while other (well performing, but mostly external) soundpools) had completely disappeared from my soundpoollist....
  • Then MM froze once again, I had tot force-stop & start it.
  • ...and all instruments that did work before the crash, refused again...

Who can explain?? Of course I go on testing, trying, searching, exploring etc. etc. myself. But I really would like to hear about others people's experience...

@jan99

Hi

This is beginning to sound like there is corruption of the initialisation file - try resetting the program back to its default settings - File, Setting, Reset program settings to default.

Note: this will remove any customisations you have made, to add any additional VST paths you have and rescan the Soundpools.

In addition to the post above: I stopped MM (normally, no freeze or crash), cleaned the registry (CCleaner), started MM again ...and all soundpools worked well again, though quite some others had all the way disappeared from my list....This is becoming quite adventurous! And tnx John (I missed your comment writing my own...), but I tend to agree with you. So I'll be back 😊

6.Occasional program hangs/freezes when previewing Soundpool samples, once the program has done this the only fix is to use Task Manager to end the task.

This bug is killing me. Happens every 5 minutes and I lose all my work.

While it may be that you have not been informed when item #3 will be fixed... I have that very issue with something that does not make sense. I stopped logging the errors after nine of them. The issue is I have no other installation of this Vita instrument. . (I searched all drives for these). There are only the *.fxp files.

For example which everyone with this issue has seen - But it's the 1st install so the reason for the bug doesn't match?.. It downloaded fine. Perhaps they should allow for a reinstall without having to completely uninstall the entire app?

Vita instrument Orchestral Ensemble - Missing *.wav files:

Orch Ens V2_C0_031.wav
Orch Ens V2_C0_067.wav
Orch Ens V2_C0_102.wav
Orch Ens V2_C0_124.wav
Orch Ens V2_C0_127.wav
Orch Ens V2_D0_031.wav
Orch Ens V2_D0_067.wav

Hi

Check in the folder

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\MxSynth\Vita\image files

that all these image files are installed

@johnebaker Thanks for getting back to me so quickly !!

SOME files are there and some keyfiles which I gather are purchased ID files.

It seems I have some missing and extras!! That is so strange because I downloaded what appeared and then as anticipated, I selected the extra download bonuses on purchase (Including Orchestral Ensemble) without any errors ??

I'd like to know what the Origami files are and why the vinyl file is in there.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? It has installed obviously but with missing files and no errors. How strange...

Hi,

Andrew, when the not found message comes up, click on Ignore all. The instrument should load without the details. What does it say at the top - "orchestral ensemble (64)"?

I have this problem with Bugles and Piccolo Trumpet if I select something from the sub-list I get:

and clicking Ignore all gives me this:

I presume the same thing happens to you?

I think that this is the only instrument that has this problem for me, but I haven't tried them all. Orchestral Ensemble does not give me a problem.

Try this. Once you try to add the instrument by selecting a sub-instrument, click on Ignore all, then close the instrument window. Click on the instrument again (where the + was) and select the base of the instrument - don't open the submenu. When I did this, the instrument suddenly worked.

Another way was to drag or put the instrument on a track using the icon under the Instruments tab.

BTW, I have exactly the same problem on both of my computers. Strange.

Further to the above, about Origami, go to Vita, Ethno percussion, and you'll see some there and more under Orchestral Woodwinds.

@browj2 and @johnebaker

I followed the above instructions (browj2). To answer your questions, YES to x64 (screenshot) and you can presume the same thing so YES there too. The dragging is a NO and gives the same request for *.wav files for me.

However, I decided to reopen and try and load a bank (works on an actual physical keyboard and figured why not?) I think I found something that is possibly part of the issue. See the default bank in the next image? It seems to be pointing to a location that does not exist. I manually loaded it (and every fxb bank in there) and the identical thing happens. I am just wondering if it is an absolute path and not a relative path in the file locations? That would definitely make more sense?

Additionally I tried not to laugh at the irony of this..... as johnebaker knows, I am a Cubase Pro user. Inside MusicMaker after using "ORCH" in my search it brought up all VST's and plugins with that string (shot below). SO - I loaded the Halion Symphony Orchestra which I have on my elicenser. It seems elicenser does not like your authentication system. It spat the dummy at me 🤣 "You do not have authentication for this program to load...."- It did ironically load after saying it was not going to and it works unlike the Vita Ensemble which is the reverse, loads the interface but doesn't;t load any sounds as it cannot find them. I have to leave it to the experts because I am not sure what to do next if I cannot uninstall it and reinstall if that is where the issue lies?

Thanks for trying. Please update me if any news. Thanks again.

UPDATE - I downloaded the free Independence sampler and attempted to load the yellow tools files that MusicMaker's Vita uses. Error message on the ytif files below when I try to manually load it into independence.

I looked first before this addition. I also own the Reason 11 rack as some others might perhaps. While initially, it seems to load just fine in MusicMaker 2021, when I open the GUI of it to access file locations, randomly, MusicMaker hangs. I have a grunty computer & GPU and 48GB of RAM so it's not the hardware.

I have been trying to add more tracks to no avail! I have a registered edition of Magic Maker Premium Edition that I upgraded for $69.00. So what's the problem? Are you running some scam of upgrades that time out?

emmrecs wrote on 6/18/2021, 3:46 AM

@Ronald-Edari

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff and we are not running some scam of upgrades that time out!

Obvious first question: when you paid $69 for the Upgrade, you would have been emailed an updated serial code to allow you to fully activate the 2021 Premium variant. Did you enter that on the MAGIX Account tab of the opening splash screen and so log into the store? Then, having done that, did you also download and install ALL the updated content for the new version?

Only if you have done ALL the above will you have ALL the facilities of the Premium variant, including those additional tracks.
