The main problem were having seems to be with avi files that were inported into the program. You click on one -somtimes it transfers over then freezes up the whole screen except for the mouse--other times it may send it over, but then when you click the play button the screen freezes up. Another thing when you click on the avi file it does ask you if you want to convert the resolution. The jpeg, wm?, and demo seem to work o.k. I did do a reinstall with no luck. I wonder if it needs a codec, if it does not sure where to plug in or download it into. We did install the free download version acouple of months ago and it work o.k. We like the program so I bought one and can't get it to work right. I don't think I can get my money back either.

Thanks for your help

Ackie,

Your '4' isn't much to go on! :-) Please post again or use the 'Edit' button below your message to fix things up. Don't worry; I had problems using the forum at first.

I've had no freezing issues with MEP on XP or Win7 machines. I wonder if Vista's the root of the problem. Just what types of files are you loading? Some of the newer very highly compressed video formats can be very slow to load and preview on less powerful computers. What CPU do you have? . Have you tried just a few .JPG or .BMP still images, or a short .WAV file?

The usual suggestion is a re-installation of MEP. I'd try a 'Repair' option first if it's available when you run the  download file..
