Well, after your third post thanking us, I figured that you had solved the problem.
Shortcuts are usually context-sensitive, so if the last place that you clicked was in the on-screen keyboard, pressing M or R or any other letter will play the associated note on the keyboard. Check what has focus when you press M or R.
I use a ShuttlePro V2 beside my external keyboard with R on a button for recording. More often than not, I had last pressed on a key in the on-screen keyboard and then when I pressed the record button on the ShuttlePro, recording would not start, but a note would play.

In MMM 2022 the view settings it shows the keyboard shortcuts for transport controls. Clearly they only work sometimes, but not when you need them most. I just get tired of clicking. Keyboard is quicker and much more efficient. I have yet to find stability in the new version. thanks browj2.
You are right about the recording shortcut R; it's gone. For recording, they say Shift+R, but that opens the dialog menu, not start recording. We need a shortcut to record.
As well, the manual for 2021 had a list of shortcuts. That is gone from the manual.
Also gone from the Settings popdown is the ability to manage keyboard shortcuts U, which now opens the Mastering Suite.
This is not good. Magix should not have gone playing around with the shortcuts.
I think that it's time to raise some tickets.

I did figure out how to get M for "Mixer" to work. You have to jump through hoops. 1. Click The Mixer icon. 2. Select FX on bottom right. "M" is now functional after doing this. Oh well so much for R. I guess it is what it is.
