The key frame icons I used to use to add or remove key frames are grayed out and I cannot effectively use the Camera/Zoom to zoom-in and move around an image or video like I used to. What am I missing?
Pozdrawiam - Ryszard
Hi John I can't move the keyframe at "x". A shift in "y" is normally possible. I am animating a photo in png format. Do you have any idea? I saw your tip from July 1, 2023, but it doesn't work for me. Regards - Richard
If you're using Camera/Zoomshot with a later version of MMS, to get the whole effect going, you may need to activate the Size/Position/Rotation effect first. You don't need to do anything with it, just get it activated so that it appears in the keyframe editor as shown in JohnEB's images above. Then you'll be able to use Camera Zoomshot.
CZS changed a couple of versions ago; previously, the "add keyframe" button became active as soon as the effect was activated, a much simpler method IMO. I still haven't worked out the logic of the new procedure.
Thank you very much for your willingness to help, but the problem goes deeper. I did an experiment. Exactly the same photo with background and in .jpg format - it moves and enlarges without any problems. After removing the background and saving as .png - it stops working. The phenomenon is repeatable.
I've just created a PNG with a clear background and Magix (at least Movie Studio) Camera Zoomshot deals with it with no issues; I am able to crop/pan across it. The clear background comes out black, which, I expect, could be chroma-keyed out but I have no expertise in that area.
Could you explain this in more detail:
I can't move the keyframe at "x". A shift in "y" is normally possible. I am animating a photo in png format.
Thanks!

I presume you mean it is the same photo as the png you tried in the coment before,?
--------------
it moves and enlarges without any problems.
I presume that is using Camera/Zoom Shot?
-----------------
After removing the background
What background, is that a video or image of your own or one of Magix - Template backgrounds?
---------------------
and saving as .png
Saving what as png? You can only 'Save' the project as .MVP. To 'save' as a png it has to be exported as png.
I'm presuming there's your jpg/png somewhere on the screen & if it's 'moving' I'm guessing it's not it's orig full size?
----------------------
- it stops working.
What stops working? The project image on the timeline that you removed the background from won't move anymore? Or the Exported png doesn't moved when played?. png's are still images/photos.
Once again, I would like to thank both gentlemen for their willingness to help. I will describe the situation in detail. 1) Generally, I make a project in 1920x1080 resolution, 30fps. 2) On the first time track I placed a .jpg 4000x3000 photo 7 sec long Of course, we see part of this photo on the screen. 3) I animate this photo using keyframes. Specifically: - I increase it by about 20% - I move along the diagonal to the right and down (about 1000 pixels) 4) I want to highlight one of the elements of this animated photo of approximately 100x100 pixels because it is blurry and unclear. 5) For this purpose, I cut out the detail I am interested in 100x100 from another photo (similar in theme but of good quality) and export it as a png. I prepare it using GIMP, 6) I load the prepared png photo into the Magix project and place it on the second time track. To ensure synchronization of images from both time tracks, I also need to animate the png photo on the second time track. And this is where the problem described above arises. Is this some kind of magic? Note: If we return to point 5) and export the same 100x100 detail from GIMP but with a uniform background (black, white, etc.) as a jpg, the photo animation is possible and synchronized with the animation of the first time track. Of course in this case I have to remove the background in Magix (Effects/Chroma Key/Color/etc).

@Turkana Thanks for explaining that but - 'And this is where the problem described above arises', What problem?, I didn't understand your earlier comment - 'After removing the background and saving as .png - it stops working.' so I don't fully understand this added info,
I understand most, (There's a button at the top of a comment with 1--- & 2--- above each other, that does this -. )
Add a jpg to track 1,
Animate the jpg,
'I want to highlight one of the elements of this animated photo of approximately 100x100 pixels because it is blurry and unclear.'.. I don't know what that means, Highlight?
Prepare an image in GIMP, '100x100 from another photo'.. not sure what you're doing there? It sounds like you're selecting a piece of another image to replace the blurry bit of the orig.
Add the png to Track 2,
'......... also need to animate the png photo on the second time track.' - yep 👍
'And this is where the problem described above arises' 🤷♂️ Again i ask what problem, what stops working?
Note: If we return to point 5) and export the same 100x100 detail from GIMP but with a uniform background (black, white, etc.) as a jpg, the photo animation is possible and synchronized with the animation of the first time track. So you can animate a jpg? but you can't animate a png with a transparent background?
-------------
I added a jpg & a png to a project , then i was able to sync the movements of both with no problem using Copy & Paste Video effects.
