You have a much better system than I do (see signature) and I do not get any freezing with Movie Studio 2023 (Ver:22.03.167)

While running Movie Studio, what is the temperature of your GPU and CPU? Have you confirmed all of your fans are running?

What effects are you running (if any)?

When you say “nvidia drivers to the latest” - I am assuming you mean version 527.56.

When Movie Studio freezes, does the numlock key on the keyboard still toggle on/off? Do you have to reboot with the power switch or is the keyboard still working?

Does the mouse just stop or is there an error message displayed

Have you checked your Windows system and Application Event Logs for more detailed information? Especially make sure there are no “warning” or “error message” pertaining to the hard disk in the Windows system Event Logs.

CrystalDiskInfo might be handy as well to check your disks.

Are you using a wireless mouse or keyboard that maybe the batteries are on their way out?

What is the detailed info of any movie files that you have imported? (use Mediainfo to check this).

Others may have better question than these.

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64bit (Fully Patched).
Intel i5 4670.  16 gig ram.  ALL SSD, Nvidia GTX960 (2G VRAM). latest drivers (latest Version).

Software: Magix Movie Studio Suite 2023 22.03.172
Xara Designer Pro X 20 Perpetual.

It started working more stable after rebooting the computer. But it would stop and nothing would happen. I would have to control alt delete to close the program. Most times it would stop and then play after a minute. Let's see if continues to work. I don't use no plugins I usually do simple editing in magix and the effects in Filmora

I have Magic Movie Studio 2023 v.22.0.3.167. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400 CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GH. I cut video on this pgm once a week, but this particular movie I'm working on keeps freezing. I am using a template on my objects and chroma key and playback is sluggish as it is. While working on the movie it froze. The mouse moved but nothing worked. I had to use the task manager. I reopened and finished. When I tried to export, it freezes at 2:09:10 every time, regardless of whether I export at different rates. I found that after several attempts to export and it keeps freezing at the same time to be strange, so I went to the movie to see what was going on at 2:09:10. When I put the mouse over the 2:09 mark the program froze. The mouse would move but it was frozen in the double arrow position, and nothing works. I tried this at least 5 more times, and each time it freezes and I have to use the task manager to close it. I saw someone else is having a similar problem. What is up with this program? Never had this issue before. Can anyone help?

@JBA

Hi

Is the Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics selectable on the Program settings, Device options tab, Hardware acceleration section, Import, Processing and Export options?

If so are the drivers up to date? The latest version is 31.0.101.3790/31.0.101.2114 available here.

If the UHD 630 is not available, is there a Nvidia or AMD graphics card also installed in the PC - if so are its drivers upto date?

If you are on Windows 11, check that the Windows settings, Accessibility, Text Cursor is turned off, some users have reported this has been turned on and causes issues similar to those you are having.
