What type of internet connection do you have Cable, DSL, ISDN, Lease Line, Sattelite, or please don't say dial up.

It could be that with the holidays your provider is running slow due to increased traffic and your connection is timing out.

I am using a fiber optic connection and still have seen some slowdown the last week or so.  I know it is not the line, so it must be the switches are getting loaded down.

You could try changing your connection time-out to see if that solves the download problem.
