JPEG corupted

ASUS photo mgr. came with the purchase of a new ASUS 16 GB WIN 8 computer ver# 8.0.3.217 I develop web sites and the photos I've taken are in some unrecognizable format that WILL NOT OPEN OR WORK so I can WILL NOT OPEN OR WORK. How do I (YOU) fix this??

You mention Asus photo mgr as part of your purchase of a new Asus computer, but what Magix product are you asking about?

Thank you for your response. All the info I have came from the "Help" tab on the product and the oly thing listed is

ASUS photo mgr. ver# 8.0.3.217. I simply don't know what to do with the photo. It works just fine in the above mentioned product but does not work in any other venue...It simply presents as a big red "X" and says "File format not found". I am stumped. I do not know what to do to get back into a format that I can copy and paste into a web page.

Hi,

Probably you try to open a compressed jpeg file and the software cannot reconized the file.

Try to open using the original software supply with your camcoder and export in bmp or png.

AFAICS Asus Photomanager is Magix Photomanager 12.

What camera was used to take the photographs, what is the file extension of the images that will not open and are they 24 or 36 bit color depth?

Hi,

I would not trust Magix Photomanager 12 to open anything. Try opening it in some other photo app, even the windows photo app. If you can open it, save it as jpeg, not png or bmp, and then try again.

Hi,

Use Paint from Windows, if Paint cannot open it probably nothing can do except the software use to create this file. Any recent software have about same technology and developped with the same tools kit. You cannot blame Magix in this particular case.

Thank all of you for your help but in answer to some of your solutions I have tried all kinds of programs to open the file but I keep getting the same message "that it does not recognise the fromat". I took the photos with my Verizon Droid Razor Max and the file extension is .JPG. Since I opened the photos by inserting the microSD card into an adapter then told the machine to use "Magix Foto Mrg. 10 Deluxe" to open the files (and it surely did just that) and that's when my problems started. Now the photos won't respond to any program I've tried so far. But in the "Magix Foto Mrg. 10 Deluxe" they work perfectly. I just can't copy and paste the photos into a web page. HELP

Hi again,

That is a hint, use Windows Explorer to find the JPG file, use the right mouse button and Open WITH to select the program to open your file. Use the same program that create the file.

Doing this you have associated the files with Photomanager so they will open in Photmanager when you double click them - for the association yvon-robert has provided the answer.

If you are working direct from SD cards (or USB memory sticks) this is not recommended - copy the files to the computer before opening them.
