Issue with CD Architect 5.2

Mark-Levitan wrote on 12/16/2020, 2:15 PM

I'm getting an IOCTL error when attempting to burn CDs. Lead in is burned then it gets hung up for a number of minutes before this error appears. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, successfully burned discs via iTunes on the same drive, and since I keep trying, I have actually burned a couple of good discs from this same CD Architect file over approx.10 attempts (wasting inkjet printable CDs). I've never had an issue with this software. I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 with 32GB RAM. Any suggestions?

@Mark-Levitan

Hi

. . . .  I've never had an issue with this software. . . .

Was this also on Windows 10 or an older Windows OS?

. . . . IOCTL error. . . . I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 with 32GB RAM. . . . .

The ioctl error would suggest that the program cannot communicate with the burner - when did this start occurring -eg after an upgrade to Windows 10, an update to Windows 10 to the latest version (20H2)?

I successfully used the software as recently as October (I use it sporadically). I’ve had every version of CD Architect since it was launched. My current version of Windows on this desktop is 1909. I am able to burn using a new external drive that came today, and I’m on the phone with Dell as I write to see if it’s a hardware issue.
