is there a version of Movie Edit Pro Plus that will run on 32-bit computers ?

I have just received my copy of Movie Edit Pro Plus and when I attempted to install it an error message popped up to say that the product could only be installed on 64-bit machines.

One of the reasons why I chose to purchase the physical product as opposed to the online download is that the download link supported only the 64-bit version.  The details screen for the product mentions that there there is support for 64-bit architecture but not that it is a system requirement to run Movie Edit Pro Plus.

Hi

. . . . that it is a system requirement to run Movie Edit Pro Plus. . . .

On the Operating Systems tab of the product details it does indicate 64 bit OS only

You need to contact sales at magix.com regarding this problem.  I suspect the answer may be 32 bit versions are no longer available - the last being MEP 2015 IIRC

Microsoft stopped all support for the last 32 bit OS Windows XP last year.

Please post back here the reply you get.

Thanks

Hi

I think this was basically a version of MEP2014.

Having just changed to a 64-bit (Win7) system (I added 8gb of RAM to make a total of 12gb on my old Asus i5) I have been stunned by the performance increase of MEP. I was shocked by the speed with which MEP 2015 performs. For example, the timeline response is instant. Importing new files ocurrs almost instantly. Creating waveforms takes seconds as opposed to minutes before.

My strong suggestion is to update your system (unfortunately a re-install of Windows) and go 64 bit, especially if you do a lot of video editing with MEP. You can use your old/current Windows registration key on your new 64-bit install. All you need is an ISO or a DVD of the 64-bit version. I haven't had a problem with old programs or drivers yet.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
