Is it possible to stretch captions

lphalatse wrote on 5/14/2012, 1:47 AM

I often use the caption with a blue background and the duration of the subtitle depends on what is said on the video. But, it seems like the background has a standard duration as it goes and leaves subtitles behind. Is it possible for me to stretch the caption background??

Specs:

MEP MX version 18

HP, 4GB RAM, 320 HDD, onboard HD graphics

What is the name of the caption... I will test it out and see if you can make it longer...

Iphalatse,

I tried a few captions (in MEP MX) and I've no problem extending the duration of the background and the text if I drag out the text object using 'Stretch' mouse mode. If I click  drag on the background the title part stays the same even though it is grouped with the rest.

Perhaps a problem -- the animation of the background slows down rather than unchanged actions at the ends and a longer pause in the middle. This can probably be fixed by going into the 'Effects' >> 'Video effects' window and un-ticking the option to have keyframe effects linked to the length of their clip.

Hope this helps till john's expert advice is available,

Carl

Sorry for the delay in replying, I guess it's the time difference time difference. I can't really remember the caption name. left the laptop at home, but it's a light blue stripe sliding in before the titles and out after the title fades out. Will post the name as soon as I get home.

@cpc000cpc, thanx for the answer, will try it and get back to you.
