I don't want to buy something I don't need, but I want something better all the same. Here's my situation:
I'm an indie filmmaker creating background music for promo videos. Back in 2009 I purchased Magix Music Maker 16 for use on my PC. All was well but I got tired of the same old loops all the time. Two years later I bought Magix Music Maker MX and the set up was virtually the same with maybe a few differences/improvements, and definitely more sound loops to choose. It amalgamated my old loops from MM16 which was nice, but otherwise, I needed no extra knowledge on how to run the program because it was basically the same.
Now here I am five years later. I am still using Music Maker 16 without any problems, but don't know if it's worth it to upgrade to Music Maker 2016 or if I should just purchase extra soundloops.
I'm not a serious musician or filmmaker, and don't need a lot of gadgety stuff with the program, but I certainly like having the huge selection of soundloops.
In the users' opinions, should I upgrade or not?
Also, I tried to download the free trial for Music Maker 2016 (and noticed the program looks very similar as always), but the program didn't produce any sound - not even in the sample demo at the beginning. I have sound elsewhere on my system, and can achieve it on other files and online, but I load up MM2016 and could see the meter moving, but could never get it working. Yes, sound was on, up, and not muted.
It would also be my first "online" downloadable purchase, as the other two I purchased directly from the store. I worry that if I download I'm going to run in to trouble like I am with the demo.
