Installed Sound Forge Audio Studio 16.0 (Build 39) 64-bit

I am trying to edit my first file with this software and there is an echo (some sort of distortion) is not part of the original file. I need to edit this for radio broadcast. I am using Win 10 Home 64-bit OS. Prior to this download I have been using Sound Forge Audio Studio 12 without any issues. All I did was to open the file in SFAS 16 as I normally would and then start editing. The original file sounds fine when played in other software. The file was recorded with Ocenaudio which I have been using several years without any issues.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Robert-Lumpkin4160.

What format is the file? Without actually hearing the issue and not having the file(s) to ID the attributes, it is difficult to speculate. However based on other common remedies for noise in SF, I can suggest two procedures to try:

- Open the "Options> Preferences> General" menu and enable "Always proxy compressed formats" If that does not resolve the behavior, try resetting Sound Forge:

- Go to the 'File' menu and select "Reset all preferences and clear cached data"

Otherwise, the Magix Low Latency 2016 driver has also been known to cause noise, but that requires a registry edit, so try the proxy and reset first.

Can you post the file in Dropbox, Google Drive of (WeTransfer)?.. or at least the media attributes? ('MediaInfo') is a good all-around tool for A/V file info..

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Where do I send the file to in dropbox?

Have you tried my other (reset and/or proxy) suggestions?

If you wish to share the file, upload the file to your Dropbox (or other) cloud folder and share the file, which should give you a ULR (link) to copy. Paste the link in a reply here..

@Robert-Lumpkin4160 <.sfas> is a 'Sound Forge Audio Studio' project data file, you will need to include the media folder that has the actual audio file(s) The media folder will have has the same name as the .sfas project file.

The MP3 file sounds ok in Sound Forge on my PC., though there is excessive brick-wall limiting in a few places, but that would not cause the sound you describe.

If all file types have the same abnormal sounds, I recommend uninstall / reinstall Sound Forge, using a third-party uninstaller that can remove left-over registry entries and pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which in usually the root of abnormal behavior. Revo Uninstall is highly regarded and has a pro and freeware versions. The free version is adequate in most cases.

Otherwise you can request a tech support ticket from Magix.

Hi Rrand

I had busy last few days, but I have a new file to edit from yesterday's service. I will let you know how it goes. I did uninstall and did a re-install, so hopefully the issue is resolved.

Thanks for your reply

GE Rrand,

I just opened the sermon and I still hear the echo along with the pastor's words not flowing smoothly. It's like there is skipping as he talks. I'm really not liking this software as to the earlier version. If I open in Audacity, I don't have this issue. I guess I will have to request a tech support ticket for resolution.

Peruse this comment prior, requesting Magix support is a bit confusing (understatement).
