Installation of Vegas Pro 365 version 20 hangs indefinitely

pnarco wrote on 2/21/2023, 6:13 PM

I've been trying several times for days. I had to stop it from the task manager after more than a day of stillness because I needed to reboot. Subsequent installations have attempted to 'remove' a prior installation but will still hang. It doesn't try to 'remove' anymore but it just hangs. The screenshots are what it shows and it just never proceeds anywhere beyond that.

I have time-sensitive projects that I need to get done soon so I'm a bit frustrated atm. Can someone please help? Thanks.

FYI this is from the link under 'My Products' on the magix website so it is at least version 20 but I don't know if it is 'build 2'. If the one off the website under my account is the latest version then that should be it. The installer program filename is vegaspro365_dlm.exe. This is a 1st time install on a new machine. It is Windows 11. It is all updated (Windows). The specs on the machine is that it is a Dell XPS 8950. It has a 12th Gen Intel(R)Core(TM) i7-12700 processor (12-Core, 25MB Cache, 2.1GHz to 4.9GHz) and the memory is 16GB DDR5, 2x 8GB, at 4400MHz; up to 128GB and of course there is enough hard disk space and everything: solid state drive. Thanks again.

@pnarco Hi, wrong forum, copy & paste your request on here, the Vegas forum https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/vegas-pro-forum/

pnarco wrote on 2/21/2023, 6:54 PM

This is a Magix product which I am subscribing to and paid to do so. I was just now directed to this forum from another forum specifically.

I am trying to get support on a Magix product. How can I do that? I see no clear way to get a hold of anything like a technical support department or customer service that has an email or phone number. You are directing me to a forum outside of Magix which is contradictory to the info that I was just given:

Hi.

Look at the base of this page. The link for Vegas Pro forums is there and the Imprint one takes you to where Magix contact details can be found.

Ok so I logged in to that forum and posted in the off topic forum on there since I didn't see anything that addressed any technical issues and so now it has kicked me out of the site and I see this at the login..

@pnarco

That does seem extreme but I do not have an account on that forum.

Maybe another member here will see this thread and have a word with a mod there about it. There are one or two users here I think who could.

There is still the contact Magix option although that takes time.

You may need to use an app to track down and help clean your registry and possibly a direct link to the download server. The latter only Magix can help with as there are only users on the forums.

A second email address that may get a quicker response is sales@magix.net.

I'm trying to register for the Vegas forum and I get this...

Former user wrote on 2/22/2023, 12:11 PM

@pnarco @johnebaker is asking if you used the same name when logging in to the Vegas forum, pnarco is your username on this forum, did you use the same @pnarco on the Vegas forum?

The link I posted for the Vegas forum is still Magix, Magix bought Vegas pro a few yrs ago & as you're trying to install Vegas Pro it's better to post on there, the link you posted 'Vegas support forums' & the link i posted both take you to the same forum,

I see no post by you in the Off Topic section, for whatever reason there's nothing showing & unless you were swearing uncontrollably your post wouldn't have been deleted. not many people post in the Off Topic section so your's would be quite clear to see,

I don't know what your USER_LOCKED picture means, maybe @ericlnz could help you,

pnarco wrote on 2/22/2023, 12:28 PM

Yes I think I was using pnarco. No, no swearing.

Former user wrote on 2/22/2023, 2:11 PM

@pnarco No posts by you.

pnarco wrote on 2/22/2023, 5:13 PM

idk I was in, I logged in using my Magix login cuz it says it is a site to log into if you have a Magix account on the login page and so I was under the impression that it was indicating I use my Magix site login. Chrome has had some issues keeping the magix sites logins straight and it seemed like it would accept that going by what it said. Then, I was in, determined probably the most relevant sub-forum for my question was called 'Off-Topic'' so I wrote the question up and when I hit 'send' on the question boom, I was out of the site and at the login page with that error message, the first one I posted from there.

pnarco wrote on 2/22/2023, 5:29 PM

Part of it is that I feel stress from the deadlines and not being able to work I don't know if I am thinking very straight right now because of the stress. I have a disabling condition where that happens. The work that I do on the program is my therapy I guess you could say.

ericlnz wrote on 2/22/2023, 7:22 PM

@Former user No trace of "pnarco" on the Vegas site. No record of being blocked by Mods or the system auto scam.

From memory the Vegas site and this here require separate log-ins/ registration albeit that you use the same for both and your Magix account.

pnarco wrote on 2/22/2023, 7:40 PM

I must have signed in using my email. I think I used my email address which includes 'pnarco' which i think i said initially. i'll see what chrome says cuz it saves the login.. but here... i think it must have been the email but i dont just want to osay my email here you understand anyways i saw they emailed me when i logged in (1st pic) and when i take that link in the email i get the 2nd pic.

Former user wrote on 2/22/2023, 8:48 PM

@pnarco Can't say I've ever seen that pic before & who's Phinny?

in your comment - 'I wrote the question up and when I hit 'send' on the question boom' .

'Send' ? If you had posted it would say 'Post' & the window would've looked like this with Off Topic chosen in the top box

Did you open the link I shared & logged in there,? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/vegas-pro-forum/

If it is you are not having a good day as you were automatically blocked by the Magix spam detecting system!

As I'm a Mod on the Vegas forum I've unblocked you but please report back or post on the Vegas forum under the Vegas Pro section (not off Topic) so I know it's you otherwise I'll reblock "Phinny" in 24 hours.

pnarco wrote on 2/24/2023, 12:21 PM

I am sorry for the long pause. I needed to get some rest as I have been exhausted. I have been trying to set up my new exchange computer from Dell and working with their tech support. Phinny was the nickname I wanted to use on the site. I think I may have used one of these support forums once before. If you could just unblock me again so i can register and login I would appreciate it. I am not a spammer. I've just been trying to find the right forum. Thank you.

pnarco wrote on 2/24/2023, 2:32 PM

Forget it. Magix support is helping me directly. I finally got thru to them. Thanks anyways.
